"The Apprentice ", by Donald Renner, framed painting, image depicts Jeanette Cypress learning from Susie Billie, who is mixing medicine in a jar. Renner painted this image based on photographs. Additional photographs were taken of the subjects in Chokoloskee in 1992. Renner has the photographs still. Suzy Billy and Buffalo Jim were brother and sister and both were in Seminole medicine. |
