Skirt |
Description |
Black skirt with five rows of patchwork. The top of the skirt has solid bands of color (sage green, red, and yellow) and twenty-five rows of ric-rac (orange, peach, yellow, blue, orange, purple, and white). This skirt was donated by Betsy West. Betsy's uncle, Ray Barnett, had the skirt custom made for his sister (Betsy's mother) in a village outside of Miami in the early 1950s. The story is detailed in an accompanying letter (2023.23.3). |
