Description |
Female palmetto doll. Face has a nose made of palmetto fiber extruding. Doll has traditional mid-twentieth century hairstyle, bead earrings, and bead strand necklaces. Cape is maroon with green trim and (2) bands of applique (purple and orange). The skirt is primarily yellow, with a navy blue ruffle at the hipline, (3) bands of applique (purple, red, navy blue), trimmed with maroon, with (1) band of patchwork. This item was donated by Katherine "Kitti" Ginn. Kitti's grandfather-in law, Robert Peyinghaus, was an engineer who worked with the Seminole/Miccosukee poeple. The items in this collection were giftet to Robert and his wife by the Seminole Tribe. |
