Description |
Red patchwork jacket belonging to Wilburn "Sonny" Cockrell. It was given to Sonny by Corey Osceola and his wife. The jacket is a "straight-style", favored by evangelical preachers (1950s-1980s). It is similar to Eisenhower jackets, but without elastic at the waistbands or mid-closures. Instead, the jacket is meant to be worn loosely over other clothing. The jacket is primarily red with three (3) bands of patchwork (yellow, turquoise, black, orange, light blue, purple, white, green, orange, and blue), and five (5) rows of ric-rac on either side of the patchwork bands (blue, white, black, purple). |
