Description |
Female palmetto fiber doll w/ no patchwork Small female Seminole doll made from palmetto husk fiber. The doll is wearing a skirt and cape made from horizontal strips of cotton textile in black, red, yellow, teal, whie and blue. The doll has three rows of multi-colored glass beaded necklaces around her neck. She has eyes and mouth made from stitches of cotton floss. The traditional hair style is indicated with black fabric pulled tightly over a form. The original paper sales tag is attached around the doll's neck. Printed in black on the tag is "Trademark registered Seminole Arts and Crafts" with three seminole dolls printed in black. In the designated areas written in blue pen it reads "Object: Doll, Size: 4", Craftworker: Lucy J. Billie, Price: 75 cents". |
