The matchbook has the bust of Red Cloud in large feathered headdress on the closing flap printed in brown, yellow, green, black and orange on a yellow background. He is labeled, "Red Cloud" and "Sioux Chief". The text panel on the back has a bow and arrow design in the top left corner and reads, "Red Cloud, head chief of the Oglala Sioux, became famous for his battles with prospectors and the Army in defense of the Indian lands and the sacred Black Hills, allotted to his people through treaties."
The flat matches have black fronts and backs with blue sulfur tips.
