Object Name Bandolier
Description Southeastern beaded Bandolier bag. The bag is made from a dark brown wool fabric with a cotton lining. It is heavily beaded with colored glass beads in curvilinear designs. A repeating "S" pattern in pink, blue and clear beads going up one side of the shoulder strap and a crescent pattern in turquoise, white, green and red beads going down the other side. The shoulder strap is bound on the edge with a red fabric and the outer folded edge is decorated with a row of white glass beads. Each end of the shoulder strap has three finger-like drops. Each drop has a red wool tassel suspended from it and there are eight red wool tassels across the bottom of the square pouch. The square pouch with triangular flap closure is entirely covered in beaded decoration with red, blue, green and white beads in a spiral pattern. The edge of the square pouch and flap is bound with an olive green/brown fabric and an outer row of white beads. The shoulder strap is lined with a light-brown floral cotton and the pouch is lined with a red and brown geometrically patterned cotton.
