Description Frock coat, U.S. Regulations, 1839-1841, Militia coat that conforms to U.S. Regulations of the period, owned and used by Lt. Col. William Isaac Hodge.

When the Mexican war broke out he served in a Mississippi volunteer infantry unit under Jefferson Davis. He was killed during the Civil War serving in a Mississippi cavalry unit until 1864
