Framed Aigrette pair: two bundles of feathers bound together at the top with a black band of fabric with curly hair-like tuffs. There is a purple cabochon gem jewelry (broach?) at the center top. The feather plumes measure approximately 16" long and are in cream in color with dark brown at the base. Aigrettes were ornaments made of egret feathers, used to adorn women's headdreses in the late 18th and early 19th century. The aigrette is in a framed shadow box with a black velvet background and a thick gilded frame.
