|Object Name||Horn, Powder|
Powder horn, made from a yellow animal horn with a black tip with military type mounts. The narrow end of the horn has a copper alloy cap. The interior hole within the cap is threaded, but there is no plug or stopper present. The cap is secured onto the horn with two small screws. There is a metal loop on the cap for attachment of a carrying strap. There are seven inscribed bands around the cap that appear to be decorative. The wide end of the horn is closed with a rough wooden disk that is secured with three nail/tacks.
The accession file says "Found at Palm Bay Site of the Battle at Turkey Creek". The condition of the powder horn is such that it does not appear to have been excavated or found exposed at a historical site.
