Object Name Doll
Description Small female palmetto husk fiber doll. The doll's body and head are made from palmetto husk fibers and the doll has no arms. She wears a skirt and cape made from strips of plain weave cotton fabric sewn together with machine stitches. On the skirt there is one row of red and green patchwork in a diagonally striped pattern called "wave". In addition to the patchwork strip, the skirt is made from blue, white, yellow, and pink stripes. The cape is made from pink, blue, black and cream strips. The doll has five rows of multi-colored glass bead necklaces around her neck. Her traditional Seminole hairstyle is indicated with black fabric pulled over a rigid form. Her eyes and mouth are made from stitches of thread.
