Object Name Matchbook
Description Osceola, Seminole chief, matchbook with biography. Copyright 1979, Ohio Match Company, Wadsworth, Ohio U.S.A. 44281.

The matchbook has the bust of Osceola on the closing flap printed in brown, yellow, green and orange on a yellow background. He is labeled, "Osceola" and "Seminole Chief". The text panel on the back has an ear of corn in the top left corner and reads, "Osceola, famous chief of the Seminoles of Florida, lead them in their final war against the whites. They put up one of the stiffest resistances Indians ever made. Some bands are still free today."

The flat matches have black fronts and backs with blue sulfur tips.
