Object Name Painting
Description Piece of Meleleuca bark painted with orange and yellow handprints. This item was presented to Billy L. Cypress and Lee Tiger, with Katherine Harris, at the 2000 Sydney olympics as part of a cultural exchange with the Gadigal aboriginal tribe of Australia (represented by Alan Madden). The handprints belong to two of the men (see "Seminoles in Sidney", a video of the event, for more information. The handprints were applied to the bark during the ceremony. It is hard to tell who the handprints belong to, but it seems to be two of the three men (Cypress, Tiger, or Madden).

The Seminole Tribe of Florida helped the State of Florida sponsor the "Florida World Pavilion" at the 2000 summer olympics in Sydney. The museum had an exhibit in the pavillion.
