The game between the teams, identified as the Daytona Beach Barracudas and the Miami Fury, was hosted by the Women's Professional Football League (WPFL) on October 14, 2000. This game was the first of ten games scheduled for the 2000 WPFL Inaugural Season.
This event was covered in the November 10, 2000 edition of The Seminole Tribune, Vol. 21 No.15. The article, titled "Women Athletes Get Chance to Play Professional Football", and associated photos were composed by Seminole Tribune reporter Elrod Bowers.
