Mrs. Frank Stranahan was the organizer of a group called "Friends of the Seminole". Their objectives were to aid the Seminoles, particilarly on the Dania (now Hollywood) Reservation by helping children enroll in school, provide them with clothing and other necessities, assist in obtaining better housing, and, generally, to upgrade the standing of the Seminoles in the community.
