The photo was taken during a trip to participate in the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) held on August 3-8, 1997. Participants of NAIG included Team Florida, which was made up of athletes, coaches and staff members from the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
The NAIG event was covered in the October 3, 1997 edition of The Seminole Tribune, Vol. 20 No. 15. The article titled, "The 1997 Indigenous Games: Team Florida Wins 7 Medals", was written by Bo Young.
