Scope & Content "Murder of Pierre Gambre, a Frenchman" print is encased in plastic and is matted. Matted print measures 20 1/8" x 16", while print measures 9 1/4" x 6 3/4" and is numbered #42.


11/8/12 - plastic removed at some point prior to this date. The prints are by Theodor de Bry, who originally did the engravings in the 16th century, basing them on 16th century Jacques Le Moyne engravings. As this is a print of the original, it could date anywhere from the late 16th to the 19th centuries. The paper should be dated by an expert to verify the date of the print.
