Letter written by Thomas Gold in Columbus, Georgia to Martha Gold in East Bloomfield, Ontario County, New York. The original address for Martha has been crossed over and replaced with the East Bloomfield address. Thomas writes of a Corp having a brish with Indians and some of the men dieing in the fight. He also writes of a draft going out for men to fight in Florida. Thomas states that while he would fight for his state (presumably Georgia) the U.S. should provide men to fight in Florida. He also mentions some ideas for avoiding the draft and not going to fight in Florida.
