Scope & Content Letter to Manne (Mannevillette Elihu Dearing Brown) in Paris, from his siter Ellen (Anderson) in Buffalo. She bemoans the fact that the government is thinking of cutting army men's paychecks. She starts the letter again letter, when the bill to reduce soldier pay has passed. She also mentions the recent annexation of Texas to the United States. She says Corinna and Edward (Aldrich) are thinking of moving again, and that Corinna would like to settle down but that Edward is loathe to settle permanently anywhere, ever.
