Seek to Make National Park of Local Battlefield
Battle of Okeechobee bivouac location of Gen. Taylor located "near the Evergreen Cemetery northeast of Okeechobee" after rifle balls in tress were found at the site. Battle site located about 4 miles southeast of Okeechobee. Historian Albert DeVane investigated and researched.
