Short letter written by W.W.T. Bliss in Tampa to E.A. Hitchcock of the 8th Infantry. The letter states:
"On arriving at To-e-choli-ka Capt. Wright found Coora's camp deserted, with every appearance of having been attacked and destroyed by a ---- of troops. We know of none in that neighborhood, except perhaps Riley and his ---- of 40, on his return to Fort King. It is altogether a mysterious business."
Bliss also writes that an unnamed Captain also captured 20, "who were engaged in the Mr. Russell business." Although what that business was goes unexplained.
