Scope & Content Autographed letter from Harry Morgan to his son Lieutenant E.W. Morgan in Washington D.C. re: Ft. Dade; East Florida. Reference to Seminole War.

Morgan is concerned about his son because of the uncertainty of unconcluded treaties with the "Indians". Includes, "My Dear Son...we cannot feel reconciled to have you remain at any post among the Indians - as the Army will be disbanded you may be cut off by the Indians before any force could come to your assist. So it cannot be safe to remain at any post where national treatise are incomplete"
