Envelope from the first day of issue of the 3 cent Everglades National Park US postage stamp. The postmark reads, "Florida City, FLA. 9AM, Dec. 5, 1947". The image on the left is a scene of the everglades with flamingoes, alligators, and cranes. In a plaque within this scene is the figure of Osceola, which is labeled "OSCEOLA, Chief of the Seminoles 1838". A scroll at the top of this scene is labeled "Dedication - 1947, Everglades National Park Florida." There is a rectangle of yellow cardstock inside of the envelope.
