Letter to Manne (Mannevillette Elihu Dearing Brown) from his sister Corinna (Mrs. C.E. Aldrich). She reports that Edward (Aldrich) and Charles (Brown) have been sick but are getting better. Also that George is still there and they are doing a "safe but moderate business". She says he is more contented than she expected. As to the Indian troubles, she writes of a post that has been abandoned, and says that the square system is "considered a failure" and that Gen Amistad "intends to establish a line of posts.. so as to contain the Indians to the southern portions. They might as well restrain the falls of Niagara". She also says the Indian war has gotten too political and it's future may depend on the next presidential election, whether or not Harrison wins.
